Electrical Principles Exam

The GSES Electrical Principles exam is tailored to electrical engineers or people who have strong electrical backgrounds. It covers the Nationally Recognised Training unit of competency UEERE0051 Apply electrical principles to renewable energy design which is the essential prerequisite for non-electricians to enrol in the Solar Accreditation Australia design only accreditation courses. Students who achieve 100% grade in all assessments will be eligible to enrol in the Grid-Connected PV Systems Design only course.

This exam is an assessment-only Recognition of Prior Learning pathway to attain UEERE0051. You need a thorough knowledge of ALL topics covered by the exam in order to successfully pass. There are no training materials or tutor support provided. If you are not sure if you have the required knowledge, please enrol in the full Electrical Principles Course instead, which includes training materials and tutor support.

This exam assesses all performance criteria, performance evidence and knowledge evidence from UEERE0051 Apply electrical principles to renewable energy design. You can view these directly at https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/UEERE0051. At a topic level, the subjects covered include:

You will need to have and be familiar with using AS/NZS 3000:2018 and AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2017. GSES is not able to supply these standards.

Please note if you don’t recieve 100% grade on an assessment by your 4th attempt you won’t be able to continue further through the course.

Frequently Asked Questions

GSES is a Nationally Recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 91461), and students who achieve 100% grade in all assessments will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency UEERE0051 Apply electrical principles to renewable energy design.
